It’s the brainchild of Dr. Kevin Bonner of the Jordan Young Institute in Virginia Beach. Together he and his colleagues, Drs. David Diduch at the University of Virginia and Mark Getelman of the Southern California Orthopedic Institute, along with engineers at Johnson and Johnson, created the TIGHT-N Docking Anchor.
If Dr. Kevin Bonner isn’t busy performing a life-changing arthroscopic shoulder surgery, he’s busy thinking of ways to improve the operation.
Posterior instability, although an uncommon shoulder pathology, is reported most frequently in the athletic population. Arthroscopic repair has emerged as the main surgical treatment modality for posterior instability. However, when compared with arthroscopic repair for anterior instability, the results of this procedure remain suboptimal.
